When and where do I get my Choose Life tags?

When you renew: You can replace your current tags with the Choose Life specialty tag through the online process, by mail, or in person. Look for specialty tag information on your renewal notice. The Choose Life plate code is CB.

Any time during the year: You can replace your current tags now. Simply visit your local county tag office. You will receive temporary tags until you receive the Choose Life tags by mail.

When you buy a new car: You may purchase a Choose Life tag through your county tag office. If somehow a standard tag is included in your purchase, turn it in at your county tag office and pay the additional specialty fees. You will receive a temporary tag until you receive the Choose Life tag by mail.

What does it cost to get my Choose Life tags?

If you have a standard tag now: You would pay $25 as a one-time Manufacturing Fee plus a $35 Annual specialty tag fee. Both are charged by the State of Georgia for specialty tags. So the first-year cost of your Choose Life tag is $60 in addition to your usual decal fees.

If you have Choose Life tags (or other specialty tags) and want the NEW design: You can change them upon renewal or any time during the year at your county tag office. Use plate code CB. In either case, you will pay a manufacturing fee of $25 and possibly a replacement fee of $8 to do the exchange. Cost of Renewal:

The charge each year is the $35 Specialty Tag Annual Fee plus your normal decal fees.

How is the money allocated to promote life?

Choose Life of Georgia receives a portion of each car tag’s annual specialty fee. Each quarter, we send two-thirds of that money directly to qualified non-profit pregnancy centers and pregnancy medical clinics. The remaining third is divided between our “Special Needs Fund” and our very minimal administrative costs. Our Special Needs grants cover non-recurring expenses to enhance their service to women in need. As of April 2024, we have distributed over $517,000.
